A game screen mockup is an excellent way to show how your game might look. Think of an idea for a game and produce an image that is as close as possible to looking like a real screenshot from the game.. You should document your steps, from initial ideas and thumbnails right through to as close to the end result as you get. You are expected to be using primary and secondary research.
What do I do?
Find examples of video game screen mockups
Create your own
Take into consideration style, if it's a 3D game, use 3D software
Use primary and secondary research to help you!
On your google sites:
Your game screen mockup research
Your game screen mockup development
Your primary and secondary research
Reflection (what went well, how you can improve, what your peers thought)
Going further:
Look into the requirements of your desired platform. What resolution, screen size/aspect ratio and/or colour restrictions are there? Make your mockup adhere to these requirements.
Turn your image into an animated gif
A demo is an excellent way of showcasing a mechanic or two for your game. The focus here is purely gameplay, not the visuals!
What do I do?
Create a demo that showcases your game mechanics
Conduct primary and secondary research to achieve this
Upload your playable demo to itch
Gather playtests
On your google sites:
Research
Development
Link to demo on itch
Reflection (what went well, how you can improve, what your peers thought)
Going further:
Add more mechanics and/or develop your demo further with sound and juice (but no art)
