Think about your time at Suffolk New College: What have you learned? What have you enjoyed? What element of game arts interests you most? Why? What about the industry appeals to you? What are you career goals and aspirations? What do you need to do to get there? Set yourself smart targets for the year that will help you achieve this. Use the targets from your summer task!
Specific
Your targets should be clear and precise. Consider breaking tasks into small chunks so that they are clearly defined. Your targets should not be broad of general.
Measurable
How will you know that you have met your target? Consider what evidence you will need to show that you have met your target but also how you will show this to someone else.
Achievable
You may only have one task to complete, but that doesn't mean that's one target. To fully meet any assignment brief or tasks, you will often have to complete a number of key actions or steps. Achieving these steps will help you meet the overall tasks, but will also be achievable within a shorter amount of time.
Related
All targets you set should be relevant and related to challenging yourself and making progress towards the final assignment project
Time
Every target should have a set deadline and you should be making sure that you review your progress against each target regular. You are expected to review your targets and progress at the end of every session in order for you to stay on track to meeting the overall assignment brief.
