Being part of the Nord Anglia family of schools allows BIS HCMC students to undertake a wide range of different challenges. One of this years was a film making challenge. The details are below.
There were entries into three age groups, broadly defined as Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3, and Key Stage 4. We nominate 'champions' in each of the age groups for the wider Nord Anglia competition.
Below are all the entries
Key Stage 2:
Jameson
In a world full of ordinary sandwiches…comes a creation unlike any other. Follow the professor on his journey to find the ultimate sandwich. It’s delicious, electrifying, and it holds all the flavors you didn’t know you wanted…stacked to perfection . It’s perfect! Get ready to make every bite…unforgettable. Are you ready?
Key Stage 3
Asmarah and Quinn
Our film is about different views or definitions of ‘perfect’. We decided to make it an animation as some views on ‘perfect’ are hard to capture in real life. The first part of the animation is actually just a dream, as we believe there is no such this as ‘perfect’
Hong Anh
The reel is about the idea that true perfection doesn't necessarily mean having everything be ideal all the time. Instead, the reel argues that moments of imperfection, such as moments of chaos, mess, or surprise, can be just as beautiful and meaningful as moments that are perfectly planned. It reminds us to embrace the unexpected and find joy in the moments that are imperfectly perfect.
Junior
"The Amazon rainforest holds many creatures within its towering trees. With one in particular being quite peculiar. What could it be? How does it live? And why does it have an obsession with pleated jeans? Follow me on an amazing journey to learn about the mysterious life of the Pitcapoo."
Key Stage 4
Ananya, Sonakshi and Rishona
Our film shows how much of an impact your perception of things can make. One side shows the obsession of perfection, from making her bed to writing a creative story, while the other shows how you can benefit by not obsessing on perfection, our perception of what is perfect.
In the judges mind they were all winners, with an agreed recognition that the technical skills and the creativity required to create something new are demanding. Well done to all who entered.
With Key Stage 3 being the only area that supplied competition, after much discussion, it was decided that the originality of the Pitcapoo narrowly beat the other two beautiful stories and that Jameson, Junior, Ananya, Sonakshi and Rishona should go forward to represent BIS HCMC in the global competition of over 90000 eligible students.
