Which model should be used to forecast tomorrow's weather in Alberta, Canada?
Answer
The NAM model is designed for high-resolution one to four day forecasts. It is ideal for short-range forecasts over the United States and Canada. The only other model which includes that part of the world at that range is the GFS, which would also be a useful model to consult.

The wind speed is given in the "FF" column. The strongest wind, 21 knots, is found at hour 36. Since this model was initialized at 18Z on August 19, that places the strongest winds at 06Z on August 21.
