Four-layer lifted index. This is a measure of the possibility of thunderstorms forming, with negative numbers implying instability. Of course, they don't actually send negative numbers; that would be too easy to read. Instead, whenever the lifted index is negative, they add 100 to it. Thus, for example, a lifted index of -2 would be coded as 98. In the example below, the lifted index is strongly positive most of the time, indicating that thunderstorms are very unlikely. The only time with a shot at a thunderstorm is at 12 hours, when the lifted index drops to 2.
