The initialization time for the forecast is given on the top line. Along the leftmost column are the forecast city (in this case, BOS for Boston) and the forecast hour. The first line (containing the station name) includes the initial conditions; the numbers in each succeeding line indicate the time of the forecast, in six-hour increments.
For example, the line starting with "42" is the 42-hour forecast. Add 42 hours to the initialization time, 12Z Oct. 30, to determine the forecast time, 06Z Nov. 1. For the WxChallenge, our forecast period runs from 06Z to 06Z, corresponding to hour 18 to hour 42 in a 12Z FOUS bulletin.
