Imagine that you forecasted yesterday for Oklahoma City, and you want to know how well you're doing. You need to know three things: the high temperature since 0600 UTC, the low temperature since 0600 UTC, and the precipitation since 0600 UTC. What are they? (If you get stuck, there's some hints down at the bottom)
1. High temperature since 0600 UTC:
2. Low Temperature since 0600 UTC:
3. Precipitation since 0600 UTC:
What about the 0.07 inches reported at 0600 UTC? That applies to the six hours ending at 0600 UTC, and we want the precip that fell since then. What about the precip reported (the 6 groups) at 0900 UTC and 1500 UTC? They are intermediate (3-hour) totals; the six-hour totals at 1200 UTC and 1800 UTC include them.
