The Southern Rams Boys Volleyball is now the team that has the most state championships under their belt. Although they achieved this last year, they are losing many seniors from that state championship team. They lost four starters on their lineup because of graduation. This means that the boys need to step up and fill the spots. This may worry some of the team, but they still have some big hitters like senior Van Miller and sophomore Nate Golder with the help of a smooth setter senior Logan Homme.
Last season Southern boasted an impressive final record, including a 23-match winning streak. Last year made the 14th sectional title in the last 15 seasons! Senior Aiden Krinic was a major offensive force, recording eight kills in the sectional final. His twin brother Jonah Krinic also played a big part in the win.
Southern is preparing for this next season as people have high hopes. Southern chases one thing every year, and that's a championship ring. Southern's coach Eric Maxwell made the top 50 coaches in New Jersey out of any sport. This could be a big reason that Southern has had such success throughout the years. Old Bridge is always a big competitor for Southern, the question is will they be this year?
