Can Artificial Intelligence Replace the Human Soul of Music?

       Music is the representation of one's self, morals, emotions, and ideals, so what happens when you mix in an Artificial Intelligence that has none of those? In today's modern age of music, the use of AI in artist songs is becoming more and more common by the day. Some fans are fine with it as long as the music is good but others do not approve of it at all. Those who have no problem with it argue that it is helping to advance music and create new ideas and sounds for artists to use. It can be used as a tool to further one's ideas for a song that they don't quite have the full idea of yet. Some argue that autotune and AI use in music is practically the same thing because they are both a machine altering the music without human effort or creativity. On the other hand those who are against the use of AI in music say, using AI in music gets rid of all the human creativity and aspect of the music. They also say the point of music is to express one's feelings and emotions to get people to relate with them and have them find comfort in their lyrics and instrumentals. By using AI in music the human connection and rawness of it is diminished and turned into a robotic copy of how an AI thinks humans act and think. They argue that an AI could never replicate real human emotions and morals.

AI being used in music completely defeats and diminishes the purpose of music. Music is meant to form connections between people and find a safe place to relate to some within their lyrics. Every person views music differently, whether they like music to dance to, cry to, have fun to, reminisce , make a memory , etc. Music is a form of human expression that transcends language, race, religion, gender. It connects everyone around the world through different cultures even if you don't understand the lyrics you can still dance to a good instrumental. If the human aspect is taken out of the music it will become bland and all sound the same and there will be no innovations in sound or lyrics. If AI continues to be used in music and some day takes over the industry and every song is made by a computer with no emotions, music will become obsolete and no one will be able to find the same relation, and comfort as they used to back when a human put their whole heart and soul into their work.
