With the senior trip only weeks away, it’s time to start prepping for the trip Southern Regional seniors have been waiting all year for. A couple weeks might seem like an eternity, but there’s no better time than the present to start a list and inevitably forget something anyway. With over 200 seniors attending, stores might find themselves running low on Florida essentials like sunscreen and sunglasses, so it’s time to get ahead of the chaos. Five days in Disney without a phone charger or a toothbrush might not be the greatest, so I’m going to cover the essentials for the perfect Disney trip.
Starting with clothing and shoes, let's talk about essentials. The most important outfits are the outfits you plan to wear in the parks. They should be comfortable and allow for the thousands of steps you will be taking throughout the day. I think workout clothes are the best for these days because they are comfortable and keep you cool for the hours you are in the Florida heat. Comfortable shoes are an absolute must as well, and I would recommend Hokas which are the most comfortable sneakers I have ever worn. They are the pair I will definitely be packing in April. Besides park days, everyone should bring some comfortable pajamas and airplane outfits. I also can’t forget to mention a nice outfit for the senior luau that takes place on the last night of the trip.
Now that clothes are taken care of, let’s talk about the commonly forgotten things and some last-minute reminders. Arguably the most important thing is a phone charger and maybe a portable charger to be extra safe. Long days in the parks are an easy way to drain your battery and it’s a must to have a charged phone. Besides a charger, a toothbrush may seem obvious but is often overlooked when packing especially when the list is endless. Besides physical items, it’s also important to feel your best and get excited before the trip. For the girls, I would recommend getting your nails done or touching up your hair and making the senior trip a fun event. When all is said and done, one forgotten item is not going to ruin a trip most seniors have been waiting four years for. As one last piece of advice, I want to remind everyone to have fun and enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience with the class of 2025.
