Trends from 2000 to now have changed in various ways. Between necklaces, water bottles, shoes, and clothes many trends were different between the years. Many high school students right now are very big into water bottles, spending $50 even more for a Stanley, Yeti, Hydroflask, etc. More than 10 million Stanleys have been sold, and our generation is the reason why. In the year 2000 students brought regular plastic water bottles to school which is a much cheaper expense. There is also a popular trend this year in Kendra Scott necklaces and Evry Jewels. These necklaces are a growing fad around schools right now, but in 2000 it was not. Most students wore shell necklaces which was a trend again in my 6th grade year of school. It seems to me that these trending items recycle through the years. It seems that we wear a lot of the same shoes as students did as well, such as Reebok and Nike, flare leggings, baggy/ low rise jeans, and cropped shirts. Many of these trends originate around tiktok, and what's popular from influencers. It is cool to see the difference in high school trends throughout the years, and compare the similarity from now to then.
