On January 20th, 2021, the oldest president of the United States made his way into the White House. Seventy-seven year old Joe Biden is the 46th president to take office. Since taking office, President Biden has placed a historic amount of executive actions and has taken steps to reverse many of prior president, Donald Trump's, policies. Joe Biden's main focus at the start of his term is the health of the American people combatting the Coronavirus, the issue of climate change, and immigration laws. Biden has made orders to help aid racial equality and stop the issue of xenophobia against Asian-Americans. An outburst of violence and harassment against Asian-Americans erupted at the start of the Coronavirus pandemic due to the virus's origin. President Trump also frequently called the Coronavirus, the "China virus", influencing Americans to call it that too.
The Coronavirus pandemic that has taken over the lives of Americans, will be taken more seriously by President Biden. He put in orders to have a mask mandate and asked United States officials to do a "100 day mask challenge" to try and make a change. Biden asks Americans to remain social distancing and avoid large events without a mask. He ensured the American people that the United States would be rejoining the World Health Organization that President Trump withdrew from in 2020. A 1.9 trillion stimulus plan has been created to revive the economy after the devastating dip during the pandemic. The vaccine for the Coronavirus is now being distributed and Biden is committed to having 100 million people vaccinated by his 100th day in office. Biden plans to rebuild Obamacare and help aid those who are uninsured during the pandemic.
Extreme immigration enforcement will start to be rescinded under President Biden's policies. He will be reversing the unconstitutional Muslim ban that President Trump placed on the United States. Biden is creating a plan for an eight year pathway to citizenship for poor immigrants that want to obtain permanent residency in the United States. President Trump's famous United States-Mexico border wall will no longer be a "national emergency" and Biden has put in an order to pause construction. The funding for the border wall will be redirected somewhere else. A task force created by Biden, will be reuniting migrant families that were separated at the United States-Mexico border.
A Clean Energy Revolution will be conducted by President Biden to bring the attention of Americans towards the emergency of climate change. The United States will also be rejoining the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement that President Trump withdrew from. The presidential permit for the controversial Keystone XL Pipeline granted by Trump has been revoked by President Biden. President Biden plans to lead by example and feels America's strength is through its diversity. Trump's ban on transgender Americans joining the military has been repealed by Biden, giving transgender people a step towards social equality. President Biden wants to make a positive change for Americans and help them during this devastating time of need.
