My love for cars all started when I was about six. Every year my dad, my uncle, and I would head out to Pennsylvania for “Corvettes at Carlisle”. I have now been going to this show for 11 years. My first year at Carlisle there was a little trolly that me and my dad would go on. First stop would be “crap on a blanket” as we call it. It is basically a bunch of toys, car parts, and other vendors that sell things all on the back rows. We would dig for car parts, tools, and even fun car games for me. After that, we would always go to the “Kona Ice '' truck and we would buy the refill cup, and we would forget to bring it back every year. Then, I would always beg to go look at all the “cool cars”. My uncle promises me every time that when he buys the newest car, he will give me his first ever corvette. I held onto that dream for YEARS. I figured that this would never happen, but last year he invited me to his garage and I got the chance to drive 3 of the corvettes. He was shocked that I drove well, and finally gave me a key to the garage. All of this time this was a dream, but when I went to go drive them I realized how tight they were to get into. This is when my love for Audis grew even stronger.
My dad and I now collect these cars and last year we went to “Waterfest” in West Jersey for a Volkswagen- Audi show. I had a lot of fun looking at all these cars, and there was even a dragstrip where cars would race down at certain times of the day. At night there was a DJ and a bunch of competitions where I ended up getting a shirt for beating someone in a pushup contest. I currently drive a 2017 Audi A8L, . I believe that fitting so comfortably in these cars is what makes me like these cars so much. As much as the look of Corvettes are so tempting, I don’t think that I would drop that kind of money if I wasn’t going to be able to be that comfortable. In the W12 and the A8L, we have massage seats which is probably my favorite feature. We also have night vision, which is good when driving through places with a lot of deer because it blinks yellow if there is something moving ahead, so you have time to slow down. It highlights people, dogs, ect. if they are walking in the streets. I would say that my dream car would be an Audi rsq8. I would also say I want a 2two door convertible. My dad and I almost got a 1997 Audi Cabriolet a couple months ago, but it was gone when we got to the dealership.
Overall, I think that becoming a fan of these German cars has been life changing because It made my dad and my bond with each other even stronger than before. Along with building a stronger relationship with my dad, I found a new favorite kind of car that I would buy in the future if I am able to afford the cost and repairs of the vehicle that I may choose.
