WELCOME TO KINDERGARTEN - 2014-2015

Post date: Sep 11, 2014 6:47:15 PM

We have gotten off to a wonderful start. The first couple of weeks of kindergarten are consumed with building community and learning the routines. So far so good.

A few important tidbits of information for you...

MONDAY is LIBRARY DAY. Your children got to go to the library on Monday and they checked out up to 3 books that they brought home. They are only allowed to have three books out at a time so if they bring back all three books on Monday they will get to check out three new books. If they are still reading one of them they may keep it at home but they will only be allowed to check out 2 new books. There is no time limit so they may keep the books as long as they would like but they just don't get to check out new books until they have returned the ones they have out.

FRIDAY FOLDERS: Each Friday your child will bring home a Friday Folder filled with things they have worked on during the week and sometimes important information. Please be sure the remove the contents of the folder and return it to school with your child on Monday.

Water bottles: We don't have a drinking fountain in our classroom so please send your child to school with a water bottle. It can just stay at school during the week but I recommend you take it home on Fridays to wash it.

Lastly, It is so important that your child arrives at school on time and is seated and ready to learn by the time the 2nd bell rings at 8:30. I realize there are times that we run into difficulties, but in kindergarten we are learning all about how to be a student and are trying to develop good habits. If you do get delayed and your child will be coming in after the bell, I ask that you say your good-byes outside of the classroom and have them come in very quietly to minimize the disruption.

Thank you again for allowing me this incredible opportunity to teach your beautiful children.

Have a wonderful weekend.
