December is here...

Dear Parents,
I apologize for the lack of photos this week. I had a camera malfunction.
Excitement about the upcoming holidays is definitely in the air. We did lots of singing and dancing this week in an effort to get some of those excited wiggles out. We put the finishing touches on our show-stopping numbers for the holiday concert (please see details below!), and we began "scripting" plays based on the Little Red Hen story. I am hoping that we might be able to share these plays with you on Thursday, December 19th. Details for that will be forthcoming.
We continue to observe our baby salmon and decided that it's a really good thing we postponed their release. They are still somewhere between the Alevin and Fry stage. Their yolk sacks are getting much smaller but they are still visible. The kids have been doing some great scientific observations and are having fun "recording" their observations on posters. We are also doing a really fun salmon art project.
In Language Arts we reviews the letters and sounds that have been introduced this year and added the letter Z. We also did lots of "Heart Word" activities. Here is a complete list of the heart words we have learned so far so you can do a check-in with your kiddos to see where they are:
