WEEK 3

Post date: Sep 25, 2017 9:16:38 PM

We had such a great week starting with a special assembly featuring Caldecott Honored Author Aaron Reynolds best known for his book Creepy Carrots. He was so much fun to listen to and the kids loved him! We then spent time in the garden learning about hypotheses and we started a seed growing experiment learning about the affects of different amounts of water and sunlight on growth.

We have continued to grow our heart words and have now learned:

a I it is love

The letters we have learned are:

a e h k

We have begun reading out of the IRLA bins and the kids are so excited.

In math we are still exploring with the different math station manipulative materials while focusing on geometry and patterns.

To tie in with our science unit on plants and the apple life cycle, in social studies we learned about Johnny Appleseed (whose birthday is tomorrow). We did a fun Johnny Appleseed activity with our 3rd grade buddies on Friday.
