Dear Parents,

What a busy week we had! The trip to the pumpkin patch was a huge success. The kids had a wonderful time. We toured the farm and saw farm dogs, horses, a donkey, bunnies, brand new baby piglets and chicks, turkeys, goats and sheep. We saw a cider pressing demonstration and learned about the different varieties of pumpkins. We also learned about how the soil is prepared for the planting. It was the perfect culmination to our study of the pumpkin life cycle!

We’ve been learning a lot of new heart words. Currently our list is:

be is and it we love

I see to a on the

And the letters/sounds we have learned are:

a e h k m r s

A homework assignment searching for words that begin with the “r” sound went home in Friday Folders on Friday but several came back to school incomplete. Please help your child go through their Friday folder over the weekend and return it to school with only the completed homework assignment. I’m trying to teach responsibility and routines from the very beginning of their schooling experience. I greatly appreciate so your assistance with this.

Also, book orders went home in the Friday Folder. If you would like to order books, book orders are due by this Friday, October 29.

Thanks!

Kate
