Roach

[ post office established 27 Sept 1922 - discontinued 30 April 1926 moved to Hampton Springs ]  The Jack Green family farmed and raised cattle and their farm was located near US Hwy 98 west, where there was once a school called Mary Helen, with the Live Oak, Perry & Gulf Railroad stop at Roach a ways beyond.

 

Elmie Mathis was born and reared on a farm near Hampton Springs. Elmie began his work career on the logging train from Roach, a station on the Live Oak, Perry and Gulf Railroad west of Hampton Springs.
