Howell

[ school site ] The Mason Howell family settled about two miles east on the Cook's Hammock Road, the one that converges with the Padgett Road on the Welborn Houck curve, is the location of the Howell settlement.

The school board minutes of July 1902 indicated that G. W. Land (of Lafayette County) was assigned as teacher of the Howell School.
