Grade: 1

Height gain: 10m!

Route description:

A delightful short walk with stunning views of the coast as one walks towards Llandudno Beach.  Logie Rocks has amazing rock formations that are fun for children (of all ages!) to explore. The walk is particularly spectacular at sunset, watching the sun go down over the sea while having a drink on Logie Rocks or Llandudno Beach. But you might need a head torch to find your way back through the Milwood forest!

The start of the path is at the small parking area opposite 49 Sunset Avenue, Llandudno. Note this is not the parking for Sandy Bay - go past the Sandy Bay parking and continue along Sunset Avenue until the road curves right up the hill. The parking is on the left at the corner.

Walk north along a clear path that goes above Sunset Rocks towards Llandudno.  The path follows the line of the sewerage pipe which is laid in concrete. It's a bit airy in some places! After threading through the ancient Milkwood forest,  if the tide is low, one can take a steep scramble down to the small beach before the main Llandudno beach. This is either down a steep rock slab, or a bit further on there is a steep path leading down. Or continue another 100m or so and there are steps leading down to the southern end of Llandudno Beach.

Waves crashing onto Sunset Rocks. The walk is particularly spectacular after a big storm.

Llandudno Beach

Walk north along the beach and climb up the broken steps to the neck which looks over into Logie Bay. From here there are a maze of rocks, caves, nooks, crannies and cracks to explore. Se how far you can go to the end of Logie Point and feel the waves crashing at your feet. A suggested route is go towards the point on the north (Logie's Bay) side and return on the south (Llandudno) side and look down on the surfers below you.

Return either via Llandudno Beach, or follow the road to the Llandudno parking and then take the path that leads out of the end of the parking heading back towards Sunset Rocks. It rejoins the inward path where the steps went down. Although following the same path back from there on, it feels different as the views are so different.
