Donkey Trail
Location: Living Waters Mountain Estate, Groenfontein, Calitzdorp
Overview: The Donkey Trail is a three night, two day hike over the Swartberg Mountains into Gamkakloof (Die Hel) and transport back. On the first day of hiking your gear is carried by donkey.
Route Description:
The trail package includes accommodation at Living Waters Estate, at the Wyenek Camp and in Gamkakloof. Means and return transport is also be provided. The trail is ~14 km from Living Waters Estate to Wyenek Camp and 6 km (with an extra 9 km optional) from Wyenek Camp to the Cape Nature Guest Cottages in Gamkakloof.
