Long Kloof

Location: Orange Kloof Western side.

Overview: Ravine with some easy scrambling and lots of trees in the lower section. The top section is very bushy and is seldom climbed, so expect some bush wacking!

Note: The original Long Kloof is nowadays Myburgh's Waterfall ravine and is still incorrectly marked on some sources, including Mountain Meanders at one stage!

Route Description: Access is from near the very end of the Ring road from Constantia Nek, or from Farrier's Way in Hout Bay and continuing beyond the path used for Myburgh's Waterfall ravine. On there this latter approach there is a fence that needs some "circumventing"

At the top of the ravine the Apostles path is eventually met. Either go right and connect with either Intake, Frustration or the Slanggolie Ravine path to return to Orange Kloof. If the approach has been from Farrier's Way, turn left on the Apostles path and return via Myburghs's Waterfall Ravine (with care - descending the waterfall can be tricky) or continue on and return via Llandudno Ravine and along the low contour path to Farrier's Way.

Cross country approach from Farrier Way to get into Ravine

Shady, but lot's of indifferent sandy scrambling

Scrambling a bit more interesting near the top
