Route Description:
The Nieuwoudt's at Dwarsrivier farm are able to issue you with a permit (free to Wild Card holders, otherwise pay the day hike charge). This allows you to traverse the Cape Nature part of the Cederberg Reserve on the path to the Maltese Cross.
The rough access road of several Km is on Dwarsrivier property, and starts from the turnoff to the Cederberg Observatory. There is a locked gate, but the combination to the lock will be provided on your permit. Cape Nature's boundary is some way beyond the Parking area, at a sign saying somewhat misleadingly: "Bokveldskloof".
