Feedback and Acknowledgements

Mountain Meanders is a shared resource, generated and maintained by mountain users

Feedback, comments and contributions welcome

It is a mountain-wiki!

New Routes and additions:

  • Mountain Meanders is far from complete. There are many country areas with missing information. Contributions welcome. Send the information outlined in New Route to the editors and we will add, or you can be given editing rights and you can add yourself!

  • Corrections or additions to any route are also welcome.

  • See the sub-page New Route for a guide to adding a new route. Duplicate this page, rename it, drag to the appropriate position and edit. Quick and simple!

  • A Google Photo Album recording a meet is quick and easy to add, either to describe a new route or as a contemporary addition to an existing route. They keep the site "fresh" and also have the advantage of maintaining the site's search engine ranking. So please send!

Acknowledgments

All contributions will be acknowledged and attributed where possible. Thanks to the following for their contributions:

  • Tony Heher (MCSA and U3A) - Initial design - and now"retired" webmaster, but recently roped out of retirement to help with the migration to the new Google Sites

  • The current editors and webmasters are Mike Scott and Nardus Cronje. Both have worked tirelessly on the site for years while Tony was unavailable, adding routes and doing the donkey work of converting the slides that were used to the ever changing requirements of Google.

  • Martyn Trainor (MCSA and U3A) who contributed many of the photos used in the slide shows...

  • Miles Adams for many Google Albums which are adding contemporary information about routes

  • The late Ernst Lotz of MCSA Stellenbosch section for his book "Jonkershoek en sy Berge" (as translated by Tony Heher) which formed the basis for much of the Jonkershoek text.

  • Andrew Rens - advice on the Creative Commons licence

  • ... and many others who have made suggestions and contributions.
