Looking up at ridge from start
Looking onto ridge from Swartboskloof. Route follows skyline as much as possible.

Overview: A pleasant and interesting alternative to the usual up and down Swartboskloof. Has some interesting and varied scrambling.
Route Description:
Start at the Swartboskloof parking and proceed up Swartboskloof to 850m. See map for turn off point.
There are two alternative starts. the first is just before the path goes through the gully and the other is just after. The first is more "pure" (and difficult) but the latter is fine and more obvious. Take the first if you see it, the second if you miss it!
The route goes up the ridge more or less through a series of rockbands. Keep to the ridge as much as possible, but there are easier options off the right.
At the top of the ridge descend to the Klipspringer Vlakte. Stop for a swim in one of the many delightful pools (if you can withstand the chill!) and then upstream to reach the Panorama path.
Return via Swartboskloof.
A fun diversion is to scramble up Pic Sans Nom view point or peak (see map) for stunning views over the Hottentots Holland.
