This is probably the basic dance in the SCA: if you can dance, you know this one. Chances are pretty good you have your own tune to it as well.
Taking hands all, then eight steps all around And turn around in place. Take hands again, then eight steps other way, And turn around in place. Chorus The men go into the center, and turn around awhile, Then turn out into place. The ladies into the center, and turn around awhile, Then turn out into place. The men go in and clap, Women in and clap, Men go in and don't clap but turn out into place. The women go in and clap, The men go in and clap, The women go in and don't clap but turn out into place. Siding on right, go up and back again. Then turn around in place. Siding on left, go up and back again. Then turn around in place.
