Flying Lobsters

Flying Lobsters is my educational consulting conglomerate, consisting of myself and all the other voices in my head.

Seriously: I've been working with educational software since 1987 or thereabouts. My first project was designing, building, and implementing a mathematics tutorial package to help students prepare for the Entry Level Mathematics exam given to incoming students at California's state university system.

Since 1995, I've been writing specs for Addison-Wesley's InterAct Mathematics Tutorial software as well as their new Calculus XML project. I've tested software (frequently to destruction) and am in the process of building up a complete mathematics tutorial program based on WebCT, and a more or less independent project, dubbed the Renyi Project, one that is based on nothing more than javascript. With the last, I'm trying to minimize costs: the project will use existing infrastructure and not require new capital investment.
