Gifford's
Save a Lot
Noah:
Hello. We are Noah, Linus, and Ava, and we are sophomores at Yarmouth High School. This is a project Mrs. Sylvester assigned us, where we have to make a TikTok commercial for two companies of our choice. We chose Gifford’s Ice Cream and Save a Lot.
Ava:
For the Gifford’s Ice Cream TikTok, since it is a New England company, we decided to include some iconic Maine animals; the bear, loon, and moose. The bear is angry that he has to watch his favorite team, the Bruins, on an empty stomach. Then, the Loon flies in and saves him, by bringing him delicious Gifford’s Ice Cream. Gifford’s has sports teams' flavors inspired by New England teams, such as the Bruins, Red Sox, and Celtics. Since New England has a ton of sports fans, we thought it would be important to advertise these special flavors.
Noah:
We chose to use the song Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice in the background because it matches the “cold” theme of ice cream, and it is a pretty well-known song.
Linus:
For our second TikTok, we chose Save a Lot. We figured we needed a way to show they have a wide variety of options, and at a great price. We decided to have someone in the kitchen realizing they ran out of food, and not knowing what to eat for dinner. Then Noah said his line in a catchy, rhyming way and we added a short rap beat in the background to make things interesting. The main idea of this TikTok was to show that if you need any kind of food, you should go to Save a Lot because they have tons of things, at very affordable prices.
