Creating Illusions/Morphing

Purpose:

• To learn about the career of a visual effects artist;

• To learn how mythology inspires a variety of designs;

• To use Photoshop tools to alter and morph animals in a number of ways that build upon basic skills.

I tried matching the color of the monkey’s fur to the hippo’s skin but I also wanted to keep some of the vibrant colors of the monkey. I made a copy of the image of the monkey and put it under the one I change the color of and erased parts where I wanted the color to come through. I also tried blending the monkey fur into the hippo by using the clone stamp tool to try and make it look like it is one animal. Also when using the quick select tool I made sure all the detail was being selected so when I put the monkey's face on the hippo it wasn't cut out weird.
