Purpose:
To understand how a line can be used to create a three-dimensional form
To create a sculpture that considers balance and repetition, variety and emphasis
To consider where artists find their inspiration
I think that my sculpture is bigger and more open than other sculptures. Lots of sculptures are small, tight, and compact but mine is more open with more breathing room. Even though it's more open it still looks full. There are no spaces that look like they're too open. To show emphasis I made a loop in the center of the sculpture that wraps around, twists, and attaches to another loop.
Sculptures don't have to be a big extravagant thing made out of the best materials. Sculptures can be basic, they don't need color or complicated. A sculpture can be just a bunch of popsicle sticks glued together. They also should have meaning behind them or some reason why it was created.
