Mod Podge over a photo, and acrylic paint and paint pens over the photo
For this piece, I first chose a location inside the school, at the Portland St entrance, above the windows into the cafe. I then moved to curating a message I believed to be important and would most benefit the school community. The main idea is that this piece is meant to represent the connections between peers created through the variety of different activities available in our school. I chose to represent this with flowers representing people and or activities, and then vines representing the connections.
This piece showed revision due to the changes I made at the end. Originally, the piece was meant to have a patterned background that was yellow and orange. But as I started to work through the piece, I realized that the vines and flowers took up a lot of space up not leaving much empty room in the background for the pattern. Then I made the decision to not include the background as once I was done with the piece, I realized that having it would make the piece feel too busy and take away from the message.
