Reflecting On My Goals
I believe I achieved both my goals for the semester. One of my goals was to develop my own style further. I think that the inktober drawings really help me a lot with creating my own style because there were no guild lines you just pick and word and draw whatever comes to mind. With that kind of process, it lets your style come out in the drawing because there are no limitations to worry about. The other goal I had was to put more detail into my drawings and I also think I accomplished that goal. My realistic self-portrait was a big help in teaching me how the human face is shaped and how to use lights and shadows to make things look three-dimensional and realistic. We also spent a long time correcting anything that looked off which helped show where the most common mistakes are and how they affect the look of the drawing.
Assignments I'm The Most Proud Of
There are two assignments that I'm most proud of, my inktober drawings and my realistic self-portrait. I like my inktober drawings because they let me show my style and develop it into something greater. It was also my favorite assignment because they were just so much fun to do. The inktober drawings also showed me how to take big inspiration from just one word and how to take that inspiration and express it onto paper. My other favorite was my realistic self-portrait. I spent a lot of time drawing and changing things to make it look the best I could make it and I'm really happy with the outcome. Besides the good outcome, it also taught me a lot about realism. It helped me learn how to draw the face and its different parts to make them look like me. The portrait also helped me learn the use of light and shadow which is useful in almost every drawing.
