Teams: Each class is required to submit two teams (1 boys & 1 girls team), with each team minimum 8 players with 2 reserves. Your class is allowed to submit a maximum of 2 boys teams and 2 girls teams.
Gameplay: The tournament will adopt a 4 v 4 playing format. Matches will be 6 minutes long, ensuring a dynamic and fast-paced game that keeps both players and spectators engaged.
COMPULSORY Line Changes: Line changes will occur every 2 minutes, with teams alternating between different lines to promote equal participation. Total 8 minutes of gameplay.
Rolling Substitutions: To maintain the game's pace and allow for strategic gameplay, rolling substitutions will be permitted, enabling teams to make changes on the fly without stopping the game.
Tournament Structure: A round-robin format will be employed to maximize the number of games each team plays, ensuring a fair and comprehensive competition. The TOP teams from the round-robin phase will advance to the knockout stages, leading to a FINALS match to crown the tournament champion.
Start of Play: The game begins with a face-off in the center of the field. Teams will switch sides after each goal.
Scoring: A goal is scored when the ball fully crosses the goal line. The team with the most goals at the end of the 5 minutes wins the game.
Out of Bounds: If the ball goes out of bounds, the opposing team will restart play with a free hit from the place where the ball crossed the boundary line.
Free Hits & Penalties: Fouls and infractions (like high sticking, obstruction, or hitting the ball with any part of the body other than the stick) will result in a free hit for the opposing team.
Slashing: You hit the opponents stick while trying to get the ball
High Stick: your stick goes higher than your waist when attempting to pass or shoot
Goalkeeper: There is no designated goalkeeper in 4 vs. 4 floorball. All players are field players.There will be a no man zone where players are not allowed to enter.
there should be no jumping, with it being compulsory for one foot to be on the ground when receiving the ball. Players may also not go down on two knees to make plays or block shots. Only the goalkeeper may play from his or her knees.
Equipment: Standard floorball sticks and balls will be provided. Players must wear appropriate sports attire and indoor sports shoes.
Fair Play: Respect for opponents, team members, referees, and the spirit of the game is paramount. Unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated.
Players: Expected to participate actively, demonstrating teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
Non-Playing Students: Will be involved as officials (referees, timekeepers) and supporters, contributing to the tournament's success and fostering a supportive environment.
Physical Education Department: Responsible for organizing the event, including scheduling, ensuring fair play, and enforcing the rules.
