Symbiosis Null
Overview
I gave birth to Symbiosis Null in my freshman year of undergrad and he was an alternative persona that I used when on the internet. Symbiosis Null eventually got hijacked by another friend (aka DarkJigglyGoldenShowers) who, as a result, became an infected host. Symbiosis Null is more than a joke account.
Symbiosis Null, does not physically exist (therefore the ‘Null’ in the name) but instead exists as a thematic concept. This Thematic-Concept ‘infects’ a host and creates a mutualistic symbiotic relationship. The host gives Symbiosis Null ‘life’ and the ability to ‘grow and multiply’. Symbiosis Null gives the host an opportunity to explore some deep and fundamental questions.
Thematically, Symbiosis Null explores the relationship between Humanity and Technology and the meaning of the Human Identity and the trajectory of Human Destiny. To truly explore these ideas, Symbiosis Null has to infect a wide variety of humans, where in each human, its characteristics will manifest differently. Then, summed across all infected humans, Symbiosis Null will represent the larger vision of the future of Humanity and Technology.
The History
The AIM era
When I was an undergraduate freshman in the year 1999, the internet was just starting to grow and AIM (AOL Instant Messanger) was a new concept. At that time I was exploring many different personas by creating alternative email and AIM accounts. Each persona would communicate in a different way. One of these personas was Symbiosis Null. At the time,I was obsessed with the idea of symbiosis.
After creating the Symbiosis Null accounts, one of my friends since elementary school, DarkJigglyGoldenShowers, hacked the account and hijacked it. Once DarkJigglyGoldenShowers gained control of the Symbiosis Null AIM account, he was ‘infected’ by Symbiosis Null. At the time, we did not make the association between Humanity and Technology, however since all of this transpired over the internet, it was an intrinsic theme. For the next decade, Symbiosis Null became dormant within me. However, DarkJigglyGoldenShowers used Symbiosis Null to communicate with another mutual friend, below is an excerpt of an early conversation between the two of them.
The Facebook Era
When we were in middle and high school, we were pariahs and existed as outcasts belonging to no clique. For me, that became a special part of my identity. When we went off to different colleges, our identities diverged. To deal with society and my own failures, I became even more incubated within my own universe and I tried to detach myself from the claws of society’s expectations. In fact, my alternate name SOMDE stands for State of Mind Detached Existence. To do this, I deliberately tried to look ‘weird’ so that people would look down on me and so that I could eventually be liberated from what they thought of me. A major part of this was my hair and beard cycles, along with my superjacket. In contrast, DarkJigglyGoldenShowers went the other way. He tried to become a social butterfly and become as ‘normal’ as possible. This divergence led to our largest ‘theory’ called the “Unstableness and Projection Theories’ where we argued about what it meant to be ‘normal’ and the utility of conformity.
As sadly the demise of AIM came, Symbiosis Null was reborn on facebook and this time both DarkJigglyGoldenShowers and I created separate accounts. Each of our accounts represented exaggerated versions of this divergence.

DarkJigglyGoldenShowers’s Symbosis Null represents an exaggerated version of myself in that era. Symbosis Null has very few friends (14 on facebook) and all of the comments on the page are from the same small group of friends. Symbosis Null's profile picture is a composite of 3 friends within his group.
My Symbiosis Null
My Symbiosis Null is an exaggerated version of DarkJigglyGoldenShowers, who has many friends that are not personally known. Symbiosis Null's pictures are often of partying, leading a normal life with a dog, exercising to look good, having a standard married life, liking sports, meeting famous sports stars and being wanted by socialites.
Interestingly, there was some minimal interaction between Symbosis Null and Symbiosis Null.

The Video Game
Made in the pandemic of 2020 for my reBirth Ceremony on August 8 2020, this video game captures a portion of the journey of Symbiosis Null as it interacts with my subconscious (known as SOMDEland). This game was made in collaboration and all thanks to my friend, David Frankel, who devoted endless time with kindness and epic vision to realize my dream. Check out his really amazing website.
This game will play a vital role in my ceremony and you can play it beforehand too!! Simply download, unzip, and double click the Symbiosis Null application. Provided are Windows 64bit (for most people), Windows 32 bit (for old computers) and Mac options.
The Future
On July 11, 2020, during my reBirth ceremony, Symbiosis Null will jump to another host, who is a mannequin described in my Human Augmentation Event.
Then, in July 2023, he will transfer to a computer program that I have written that will connect the Mathematical world to the Mythology of SOMDEland.

Note: Symbiosis Null is a mythological creature that was uploaded into this mannequin during my last rebirth ceremony. The destiny of Symbiosis Null is to take things from my subconscious and digest it and reinterpret it so that exists both in the real and imaginary worlds. Interestingly, 3 days ago, I received an email from "Arxiv Sanitybot" which must have scraped my website and then mashed together the quotation above. Although initially unrelated to Symbiosis Null, I knew this would be exactly what Symbiosis Null would say. I took the picture yesterday because Symbiosis Null was participating in a ceremony led by my mother. Surreal times are here.
