Firefly

With just a day’s notice, our group of impromptu adventurers assembled to search for fireflies within the depths of Lexington’s Willard Woods.  The trees spoke incantations as the cool evening wind rustled through leaves dipped in nightfall. And then, we saw a symphony of twinkling fireflies that looked like the ancient skies that used to be illuminated by the faint glittering starlight of the milky way galaxy.  It was so magical and breathtaking and mesmerizing and beautiful.  Sometimes, all that it takes is an adventure to dislodge us from the fangs-grasp of routine, technology and monotony…sometimes, all that it takes is an unexpected moment in the vastness of nature to help us really cherish one another.
