This page is to maintain a record of my Windows and Linux PC and Laptop images.  and keep a list of Software tools I have tried and would like installed.

Win 11 install from the latest version the school has:

Install clean of Win 11 + any SP

• Install a clean install of Win 11 & any Service Packs

• Update with all Drivers

• settings

  • screen Resolution - change to be highest

  • change icons to "medium" 

  • update desktop options to show (computer, user files, network, recycle bin, control panel)

  • Control Panel --> Appearance and Personalization --> Folder Options --> Show hidden files

  • Display the full path

  • un-hide extensions

Create a Backup Save Point that is just a super clean Win 11 Install

Windows 11 Users

      • Teacher ← Admin ← Password = <standred SVCYE teacher password>

      • AM_Student ← Password = learnAM

      • PM_Student ← Password = PMlearn

Thomas, think about what you migh want to do for a class guest or shadow student:

I might have one of the class laptops as a sub laptop depending on my class size, but we could add a sub user account later

• Install latest version of Chrome ← Set this as the default go to browser

• Install latest version of Firefox 

• Acrobat readers – (Is there a better PDF tools to install? Like Acrobat Pro?) Please take care to not install crap that Adobe is always trying to install…

    • We download the tools and then the Students logs in.  much of this will be a cloud based application for the free version - They have to register their own account

• Solid Works - Make sure the 2018 version (SVCTE bought) of the Solidworks tools are installed, and the license server is running

• Last time I installed Version Arduino 2.04.  Clicked on “just Download”

    • After installing the Arduino Desktop IDE (which you just did), then add the Intel Curie Core to it. This simple procedure is done selecting Tools menu, then Boards and last Boards Manager, as documented in the Arduino Boards Manager page.

  • This software is for the Xilinx demo boards I have in class.  You will need an account with a no "gmail" address. I have downloaded this to my Software Backup Archive
