Chrome Book - What Can I do?
Introduction:
This page is a resource of how I can leverage a Chrome Book to teach. I'm going to document how I use the different tools from my class on a Chrome Book... because that is what many students will have next year in the time of Covid-19...
Getting Connected With My School Provided Chrome Book...
Had to log in on my managed MetroEd account... could not log in as jim The STEAM Clown...
I could after longing into the chrome book, log in to my different gmail email accounts...
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH the keyboard is small and not spaced right... and I keep hitting ==== rather than backspace. I might have to connect a standard side key board...
Stuff to Try:
Try the Linux (Beta)
Things I can Do:
Was able to log into Slack accounts
Log into GitHub
Log into TinkerCad
Can I connect to a MicroBit?
I can't seem to get it to work on my Win7 system... maybe it's time to move to Win10... Ughh
Seems if I install the ARM Mbed Win serial port driver
and then follow the Manual Transfer step to select the .hex file and send it to the drive (microbit(D:) it works
But it seems to work just fine on the Chromebook...
Opened the MicroBit Python browser editor https://python.microbit.org/v/2.0
plugged in my MicroBit to the USB
Selected "Connect" and selected the BBC microbit" and then clicked "connect"
This then shows the left most menu option as "Flash" rather than "Download"... click on FLASH
Current program loads.
