We have an Awesome opportunity to do a crazy Awesome thing. We get to make a Cosplay Costume for a Kiddo in a wheel chair. The goal of Magic Wheel Chair is to let you meet the Kiddo before you meet their disability.
Meet Reina...
I don't know lot's yet. I'm going to meet her on Saturday... but so far I know she loves Sponge Bob, Princesses, Peppa Pig, Minions, and fairy type with unicorns. She also LOVES all types of buses, mainly school buses...
Between now and Halloween (probably the week before Halloween), we are going to build a cool Cosplay costume around Reina's wheel chair... And Reina, wants to be Mrs. Frizzle and ride in a Magic School Bus
Planning Team and Everyone Else...
OK, I'm going to be team lead and the liaison with the family, but I want to involve as many classes and teachers and Staff as want to help... and we are going to need help... lots of help.
I'm going to have my Mechatronics Students form a design team, and I have talked to Cassidy for his Student help for any welding we may need and Johnny's Students help for some fashion design support...
I'm going to setup a schedule of in class work and after school work where we can design, build and deliver this Magic Wheel Chair.

Week of September 2
Mechatronics Engineering Students using the Wheel Chair images to start planning a frame to attach to wheel chair
Saturday Sept 7, Jim will visit with Reina to get her thoughts on what she wants to be for Halloween
Week of September 9
Based on Reina's costume desire, we will start planning the design.
Jim, Cassidy and Johnny to identify student teams
Jim to work with other classes and teachers to see who else would like to make this part of their students project based learning
Jim to talk to John and the Video and Film to see about documenting this process
Week of September 16
Plan is to have the Frame designed and welded by the end of the week. Planning and designing attachments, like headlights, and other electronics. Planning and designing Reina's costume (the one she will be wearing)
Jim to form a Teacher and Staff committee
My Mechatronics Class is going to be working on this during "Robot Club" every Wed 8:15-9:20 and 2:15-3:20. Send your kinds over how want to help. I will also have some time on Fridays in class during my Open Lab Project time. The Magic Wheel Chair Team will also be meeting in my classroom every Wednesday after school from 3:30 -5:00. I'll also be working on this other days after school... so let me know if Wednesday does not work and I'll have other times you can come help.
Wednesday - 8:15-9:20 AM Class, 2:15-3:20 PM Class and 3:30 - 5:00 After School.
I will be in my Classroom most other days from 3:30 - 5:00
Possibly Saturday Sept 21 (TBD)
Week of September 23
Plan is to have the Frame Completed and Fit tested. This week is all about fitting the frame , paining the Frame, and working on the attached stuff like headlights and any electronics
