According to Tidd and Bessant, innovation can be understood through four key dimensions, known as the 4 P's:
Product: Changes to the goods or services that an organisation offers. This is the most common form of innovation, focusing on what is being sold.
Process: Changes to the methods by which products or services are created, produced, and delivered. This type of innovation aims to improve efficiency, quality, or speed.
Position: Changes to the context in which a product or service is introduced. This often involves repositioning a brand, targeting a new market segment, or altering the narrative used to promote the offering.
Paradigm: A fundamental change in the underlying mental models that shape an organisation's activities. This represents a significant shift in the organisation's core mission, values, and business model.
