On liminal spaces

Liminal spaces are transitions from one moment or space to another. 

Liminal spaces can be 

1. Physical 

2. Psychological & cognitive 

3. social 

4. Temporal 

Creating liminal spaces in meetings

Allow time for people to transition into meetings. Give them time to complete previous tasks and prepare for the meeting. 

Allow time for people to digest the meeting at the end before they enter another space. 

'back-to-back meetings, it’s like putting food in your mouth all day and never swallowing'

Schools use the idea of 'hall-time' to allow pupils to get from one classroom to another.
