Overview

Goal: To develop doctors' professional and clinical skills through authentic learning encounters and prepare them for assessment.

SMART Outcomes:

Apply thinking tools to solve clinical and non-clinical problems encountered by doctors.
Apply consultation skills and create safe management plans with patients.
Feel confident in assessing and managing primary medical problems.
Feel safe to recognize uncertainty and work with complexity.

Evaluation:

Formative assessment: Feedback, presentations, teaching students leading tutorials
Summative assessment: Objective structured clinical examination (OSCE), written exam, and portfolio review

Document your impression of the problem. This is a list of problems and issues.
Document your differential diagnosis.
Document your management plan and include what you will or have discussed with the supervisor.

Students will lead tutorials. Agree the topic with the tutor and prepare your tutorial. Consider unmet learning needs from the previous week.
