EMQ
EMQ stands for Extended Matching Questions. They are a type of assessment question that is often used in medical education and other healthcare subject areas to test diagnostic reasoning.
EMQs typically consist of a list of possible answers (diagnoses, drug options, etc.) given at the outset, followed by a number of short clinical scenarios. The candidate must then choose the most appropriate answer from the list for each scenario. Answers can be used more than once.
EMQs are designed to be more challenging than traditional multiple-choice questions, as they require the candidate to apply their knowledge to real-world clinical situations. They are also more difficult to guess, as there are more answer options and the answers can be used more than once.
EMQs are a valuable tool for assessing the clinical reasoning skills of healthcare students and professionals. They can help to ensure that candidates have the knowledge and skills necessary to make sound clinical decisions.
