Shaping our Society

How religious history has shaped our way of life

Unit Description

“Over the past 100 years, we’ve witnessed some of the most profound changes in human history.”

Through pandemics, wars, progresses in civil rights, and breakthroughs in science and medicine, the old order has been swept away, sometimes giving way to freer forms of governing and sometimes not. So what does the Church have to do with it?

Whether we are aware of it or not, events in history, and their influences upon the Church, have caused profound changes - some good, and some bad - to the way we live our lives today.

In this elective, students investigate some of the major challenges that the Church encountered throughout history that have shaped our society today.
