Technology is an integral and ubiquitous part of modern society. Build on your technical literacy, knowledge and practical skills so you can take up an active role in meeting current and future needs. You will experience practical opportunities for students to explore the capacity of digital systems to systematically and innovatively transform input data into digital solutions through the application of computational, design and systems thinking. A high level of computer literacy will be an essential life skill and this subject aims to prepare you regardless of where your future pathway takes you.Â
Investigate the role of hardware and software in managing, controlling and securing the movement of and access to data in networked digital systems. Develop techniques for acquiring, storing and validating quantitative and qualitative data from a range of sources, then analyse and visualise this data to create valuable information. Define and decompose real world problems to identify needs. Design the user experience of a digital system by evaluating alternative designs against criteria including functionality, accessibility, usability, and aesthetics.
