Exploring Language serves a practical introduction to the world of linguistics. The field takes a scientific approach to language through analysing the many aspects of human language. Central areas of linguistics will be covered using data from languages from all over the world, including speech sounds, word structure, sentence structure, meaning, and language change. Through this course, students will be able to apply the skills to any setting such as communication, science, international relations, travel, teaching, journalism, public relations, and marketing.
