This unit presents an exciting opportunity for students to explore how they can translate their Catholic faith into meaningful action within our school community. Through involvement in school-based fundraising initiatives, students will have the chance to forge connections between their faith, scripture, and the values upheld by Kildare Ministries, thereby gaining a deeper
appreciation for the principles they stand for. By anchoring their activities in scripture and the core beliefs of Kildare Ministries, students can better understand how their faith relates to real-world situations and issues, fostering a sense of purpose and responsibility within them as members of their community.
Students delve into pressing issues in society such as homelessness and poverty, examining actionable solutions and drawing upon scripture as a driving force for change.
These skills not only benefit students now but also prepare them to be proactive and influential contributors to society in the future, guided by their Catholic faith.
This unit offers students a comprehensive and fulfilling experience, promoting growth academically, spiritually, and personally, while empowering them to make a positive difference in their community through the lens of their Catholic faith. Moreover, it provides an opportunity for students to develop a global perspective and readiness for a life committed to advocating for social justice and effecting change on a broader scale.
This subject also provides a practical avenue for students to engage with the principles and teachings of Catholicism, which are central to the VCE Religion and Society curriculum, particularly those related to social justice and ethics.
Overall, Faith in Action not only empowers students to make a meaningful impact but also deepens their spiritual understanding and commitment to social justice.
