Studying Year 9 Mathematics will prepare you for a range of exciting and rewarding careers. You will be challenged in this subject by working collaboratively in a team to design, conduct, problem solve and interpret data.
The Year 9 Mathematics course will cover content areas in Measurement, Space, Number and Algebra, and Statistics and Probability. You will learn how to calculate unknown lengths and angles in right angle triangles, develop an understanding of the Index Laws and apply them to simplify numerical and algebraic expressions.
You will also develop an understanding of Probability through the use of Venn-diagrams and two-way tables. Furthermore, you will be introduced to the use of computer algebra system (CAS) technology throughout the course.
