In today’s increasingly interconnected and interdependent world, proficiency in another language (or two) is a vital skill that gives you the opportunity to engage with the world in a more immediate and meaningful way, while preparing you for the global stage. A second or even a third language gives you an advantage to employment opportunities, not to mention an edge over others in a job interview. Let’s not forget how much easier it will be when you become that global traveler.
A language is best learnt with a sequential acquisition of grammar and vocabulary. After learning the basics in Years 7 and 8, it is important to incrementally build on the knowledge and skill in the following years. This ensures that the required language structures logically build on previous knowledge and best prepare students for studies of VCE languages.
At Marian College, we offer engaging studies that develop skills that are easily applied in the real world.
