Homecoming Committee
During my time at Wartburg I was apart of the homecoming committee. In the fall of 2023, I was on the Executive Committee and took on the role of Ren Faire coordinator. Coordinating such a big event involved extensive planning and community outreach to bring everything together. During this experience I organized logistics, contacted numerous community members, and coordinated with vendors to ensure the event ran smoothly. As the head organizer, I led a talented group of individuals to plan and execute the Ren faire.
First Year Peer Mentor
During my Wartburg experience I was a First Year Peer Mentor. In this role, I assisted first-year students in their college transition. During this time I supported students in reaching their potential through lessons on goal setting, time management, study skills, and campus opportunities. In addition to this, I planned bi-weekly meeting topics and activities, as well as attended all IS 101 classes where I was there to help in any way that I could. This experience demonstrates my passion for student success and my ability to create a positive impact on others.
Waverly Shell Rock Middle School Wellness Day
I had the opportunity to present at Waverly Shell Rock Middle School twice with two of my classmates during my time at Wartburg. The first time was in 2023, when we presented on the executive function skill, time management. We taught the middle school students about what time management is and how to use the Pomodoro strategy. The second presentation was in 2024, focusing on the executive function skill, task initiation. We taught the middle school students what task initiation is and strategies to initiate their own tasks. It was a great opportunity to share knowledge and insights with the students at the school on these important topics.
