Guest Speaker: Danielle Hackman

It was amazing to have Danielle Hakeman, a CRAEA Literacy Consultant and Dyslexia Specialist, as a guest speaker in our Content Area Reading Strategies class. She talked to us about The Science of Reading as well as Dyslexia. For this artifact I am including my notes I took over her presentation. I chose to include my notes on her presentation in this folder because I feel I got the most out of her "Dyslexia" portion of her presentation. Danielle had many insights into Dyslexia that were very helpful and I will use when I teach in my own classroom. Information she gave us such as the fonts you should and should not use in your classroom or the fact that 20% of students are dyslexic will be helpful.
